The time between menstrual periods varies
between women but, once established, periods usually occur
regularly every 3 to 5 weeks. Pregnancy or menopause are the
most common causes of absent menstruation. Stress or loss
of weight may also cause menstruation to stop or occur less
often. Consult your doctor if your menstrual periods stops
unexpectedly.
WARNING: Possible
Pregnancy - Any sexually active woman who
misses a menstrual period should consider the possibility
that she might be pregnant, even if contraceptive measures
have been taken during sexual intercourse.
In the years leading up to menopause, menstrual periods
become erratic. Ovulation may still occur until menstruation
has stopped completely for atleast 6 months. It is, therefore,
possible for a woman to become pregnant while going through
menopause. If you think you might be pregnant, check using
HOME PREGNANCY TEST.
