When you or someone you care is ill and you want to make the best choice about treatment. Here is the information about alternative & conventional treatment of some of the diseases.

A small introduction for the various alternative remedies.

Ayuryedic Medicine
Ayurvedic medicine is a system of diagnosis and treatment that has been practiced in India for more than 5,000 years. The term Ayurveda comes from the Sanskrit roots ayur; which means "life," and veda, meaning "knowledge." Ayurveda emphasizes prevention of disease, rejuvenation of our body systems, and extension of life span. Ayurvedic theory holds that all diseases are attributed to the imbalance of three basic physiological principles, called doshas. If these three principles cease to operate in harmony, sickness ensues. Any imbalance in these doshas leads to different diseases. So the main aim of ayurveda is to maintain the balance of these three doshas through various herbal & herbomineral medicine. The ayurvedic medicine targets the root cause of the diseases and has lesser side effects.
Panchakarma
Ayurveda prescribes Panchakarma Therapy for the cleansing of body toxins. As the name suggests, Pancha in Sanskrit stands for Five and Karma are the therapeutic measures. These are undertaken for the purification of the body and Ayurveda considers it necessary before the start of any other therapy The Panchakarma therapy of Ayurveda is comprised of five basic types of advanced treatment for the evacuation of vitiated Dosha (toxic materials) from the body. One can consider this as a body de-tox program. There are so many subtypes of this therapy and different types of herbal massages, fomentation's such as steam, external oil application, Basti (medicated enemas), Virechana (purgation through herbs), Vamana (emesis through herbs), Nasya (nasal administration of oils) etc. are also incorporated. These practices are extremely helpful in relieving deep-seated diseases as well as being beneficial for maintaining and improving physical and mental health.

Panchakarma is a very special Ayurveda treatment requiring proper guidance from a highly trained and skillful Ayurveda practitioner. Panchakarma is given individually to each person according to their specific constitution and specific disorder or needs; the treatment requires close observation and supervision.
Kitchen Remedies
It is not possible to consult your physician all the time. At time you can be one yourself When the need arises, you can whip up a supplement using resources from your kitchen. This’ll provide a temporary & much needed relief to your folks at home! There are many herbs, spices and oils that you can find in your kitchen or in your local health store that can be used safely at home to support the body and promote health. There are also many simple treatments, which you can make at home for a wide range of minor ailments.
Aromatherapy
In aromatherapy, the essential oils of plants are used to promote relaxation and help relieve the symptoms of certain ailments. Essential oils are extremely concentrated fragrant extracts, cold-pressed or steam-distilled from blossoms, leaves, or roots. The oils are diluted with so-called carrier oils, such as almond or soy, and can be applied through massage, mixed with water and used as compresses on the skin, added to a bath, or diffused into the air and inhaled. Essential oils should never be ingested; Taken internally, the oils of such plants as thuja, wormwood, mugwort feat; tansy, hyssop, and sage are toxic, and they can even be lethal.
Aromatherapists believe that the fragrance of the oils has a soothing effect on the brain's limbic system, which is involved in memory, emotion, and hormone control. Some practitioners also theorize that the oils are absorbed through the skin and work directly in the body. However, critics of aromatherapy suggest that the relaxation attributed to the oils may actually be due to their application by massage, hot baths, and other pleasant methods.
Acupressure
This therapy involves pressing points on the body with fingers or hands to alter the internal flow of a supposed vital force or energy called chi (pronounced lichee"), strengthening it, calming it, or removing a blockage of the flow. Acupressure is one of a number of treatment methods regularly used in traditional Chinese medicine, and is still widely practiced in Asian countries today. According to TCM, acupressure points are aligned along 14 bodily meridians, or pathways. Twelve of the meridians are bilateral; that is, identical versions of them (with the same sets of points) exist on both sides of the body. The other two are unilateral, running along the midline of the body. Nevertheless, some well-controlled studies suggest that acupressure can be effective for a number of health problems, including nausea, pain, and stroke-related weakness. A single point may be pressed for relief from a particular symptom or condition; or to promote overall well being of the body, a series of points can be worked on in a specific order. Acupressure can be administered by someone trained in the technique or it may be practiced at home.

The risks of acupressure are minimal, provided certain cautions are observed. Never apply pressure to open wounds, varicose veins, tumors, inflamed or infected skin, sites of recent surgery, or areas broken bone is suspected.
Yoga
Yoga is a way of life. It is predominantly concerned with maintaining a state of equanimity at all costs. All yoga schools of thought emphasize the importance of the mind remaining calm.

The most important benefit of yoga is physical and mental therapy. The aging process, caused mainly by autointoxication or self-poisoning, can be slowed down by practicing yoga. By keeping the body clean, flexible and well lubricated, we can significantly reduce the catabolic process of cell deterioration. To get the maximum benefits of yoga one has to combine the practices of yogasanas, pranayama and meditation.

Regular practice of asanas, pranayama and meditation can help to cure diverse ailments such as diabetes, blood pressure, digestive disorders, arthritis, arteriosclerosis, chronic fatigue, asthma, varicose veins and heart conditions. Laboratory tests have proved the yogi's increased abilities ofconsciously controlling autonomic or involuntary functions, such as temperature, heartbeat and blood pressure.

According to medical scientists, yoga therapy is successful because of the balance created in the nervous and endocrine systems which directly influences all the other systems and organs of the body. Yoga acts both as a curative and preventive therapy.
