holistic system of curative and preventive medicine focusing on the prevention
of disease through a deeper connection between the mind and the body.
With the emphasis on physical, mental happiness and longevity. Ayurveda
transcends borders in attaining a state of total health based on vigor, energy
and balance of body, mind and consciousness.
To meet increasing demand around the world and to ensure sustainability of
authentic ayurveda, we in Charak felt that it is imperative to constantly
upgrade research on formulations and trials for various criteria and
effectiveness.
We in Charak apply Modern Science and its methodology with patience and
sympathetic understanding to unravel the truth of early teachings and to reach
the luscious fruits of ancient medicine.
Medicine is a progressive science and in every department an attempt is being
made to replace empiricism by rationalism. Scientific mind is not satisfied by
mere statements unless corroborated by experimental evidence. Much more could
be done in furthering the cause of indigenous drugs and making them really
useful to the people in the country by a systematic investigation of indigenous
drugs.
Now it is known that US Researches have also called for the standards of
evidence based medicine to be applied to Complementary and Alternative Medicine
(CAM).
