Uttar Basti is an important Panchakarma procedure for the genito–urinary disorders of both, males and females. The therapy involves administration of a specific medicinal oil, ghrita or decoction into the urinary bladder or uterus.

Prior to the Virechana procedure, internal oleation with medicated ghee/oil is advised for 3-5 days. After meticulous preparations, according to each patient’s individual constitutions, the patient is given specially created Virechan medicine. Then the patient is asked to take a few sips of water and rest.


Before therapy:
One has to consume a specific diet which regulates the Kapha.

After therapy:
The patient has to follow a strict dietary regimen where gradual increase in the quality and quantity of the food is carried out. This period varies depending upon the quantitative shod Hana & can range from 3 -7 days
