Suffering from acidity? Home remedies to treat heartburn and acid reflux

One out of five individuals complains about hyperacidity symptoms. Rather many of us suffer from indigestion, bloating after a wedding or late-night parties. Small meals with a gap of 3-4 hours help to get relief from acid reflux and heartburn if followed regularly and make your tummy happy.

Eat small meals with healthy portion of carbs, proteins, fibers and fats.

Always eat with a peaceful mind and chew the food thoroughly. Gobbling down in a hurry always leads to acidity.

Always avoid a mix of milk and sour fruit smoothie. It will end up causing acidity.

2. Drink coriander water

A very simple and easy recipe that calms down the acidity and helps relieve heartburn is coriander water along with sugar. Add 1 tablespoon raw coriander seeds in 1 full glass of warm water and rest it overnight. Strain the water in a glass and remove the seeds, add a tablespoon of sugar into the glass. Drink this sweet-infused water to calm down your hyperacidity.

3. The acidity rescue remedies

One of grandma’s recipes for treating hyperacidity is sweet pickled Amla. Also, the rose sharbat or Gulkand (Rose petal jam) helps to protect your stomach from severe acidity. Rose petals or rose water give instant relief from hyperacidity.

4. Fennel seeds or Saunf

It’s a tradition in Indian homes, have saunf (fennel seeds) along with mishri after meals. This remedy will help you get relief from acidity and heartburn, thereby reducing symptoms of bloating and stomach aches. It helps improve digestion and is hence practiced at every home.

5. Black raisins

Overnight soaked 10-12 raisins, should be had on an empty stomach for a complete relief from acidity and constipation. It regulates the gut health too, to correct digestion.
